The
2015 National Youth Reform Conference was an event held on 25th -27th,
July 2015 at the National Centre for Women Development, Abuja. The event was a laudable and commendable
effort hosted by the National Youth Reform Group, with a number of Youth
audience representing civil society organization, Non-Government Organizations,
Faith Based Organizations, Student Bodies, Community Youth Leaders, Public
Servants, Civil Servants, Political Youths, Religious Stakeholders, Ethnic
Groups, Actors, Actress and Young Professionals etc. within the six
geo-political zones in the country with the intention of creating a highly
interactive, inspiring, motivation, challenging and unleashing platform for
young people to educate themselves and chart a course for a better youth sector
and a prosperous Nigeria. Also the
conference is an avenue for young people to discuss the need for all-inclusive
change in Nigeria. However, the event featured the launching of a
re-orientation programme tagged “catch them young” which aimed at sensitizing
youth and students on right orientation and attitude. The organizers of this
event believe that the result of the event will awaken the consciousness of the
new generational leaders of influence; discourage charlatanism especially in
youths trusted with positions of leadership.
