THINGS YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT MUNA IBEKWE

Talented Nollywood actor, Muna Obiekwe passed away after battling with Kidney disease. The actor who loved to keep his life private, featured in over 300 movies.
iCampus Magazine which is owned by Samuel Olatunji; a Journalist and PR expert, have listed out some things you probably didn't know about the late actor.
According to the Magazine, Vera Kanu, a mother figure to the late Muna in Nollywood, confirmed that the actor was addicted to alcohol. He was also a private guy who didn’t want the press or his colleagues to feast on his pain, and include him amongst 'Nollywood’s industry of beggars’.
Here we go;
  • Muna was scared of the press.
Muna was not ready to beg or raise money because he was too ashamed of what his colleague or press will say. “The guy was private. He kept to himself a lot and most importantly, kept his private life private; for instance, many people did not even know he was married with two children. Such was his life. He didn’t want press or his colleagues to start prying.
He was particularly afraid of the press, hence his shutting his colleagues out of his pain. He knew if some Nollywood people got to know about it, the press would also get to know. He refused to beg to save Nollywood’s image, he in-turn, lost himself.” A Nollywood star told us the press needs to take it easy with stars, “we are human too and like every other person, we have our pains. The press needs to be less judgmental. If he wasn’t too scared of the press, perhaps, he would have reached out for help.”
  • Muna drank heavily despite doctor’s warning.
“I was with him to the last hour.  He was to do up to 20 dialyses; the doctor said if the dialysis improved his condition, the worse would certainly be over. He will be okay only if he stays away from alcohol but you know our artiste” - Vera Kanu
  •  Kanayo O Kanayo, Patience Ozokwor, Vera Kanu and Ejiro Okurame rendered the help they could until his death.
“He was managing it on his own. As a matter of fact, he has been managing it for a while until Ejiro Okurame and I came on board to help. We were combining resources to help him but there was very little we could do to save him. We had to enlist the help of Patience Ozokwor and Kanayo O. Kanayo (KOK) at a point. They rendered the help they could until he died.” - Vera his godmother.
  •  He never got to reach out to Ibinabo Fiberesima(AGN President) despite a desire to do so.
Contrary to many reports Muna was not ready to beg or raise money because he was too ashamed of what his colleague or press will say.
Shortly before his death, Muna summoned enough courage and contacted Nollywood actress and AGN president, Ibinabo Fiberesima.
He however, promised to get back to her, but fate struck a fatal blow and he never did.
  • Muna discovered his ailment long time ago.
Muna discovered his kidney problem a long time ago but like most people, he thought he could manage it. He ignored the pain and continued working without paying much attention. According to a close source, he only took his drugs and medication once in a while as ‘Muna never believed the ailment could lead to his death.
He believed he would survive it like he did the gunshot and death of his parents. He was not a man given to worrying about things. He believed it was not a coincidence his parents named him Munachimso, a name which means God is walking with me.’
  • Muna was married with 2 children.
“The guy was private. He kept to himself a lot and most importantly, kept his private life private; for instance, many people did not even know he was married with two children.
  • Muna is the first cousin of Yul Edochie.
Muna is also the first cousin of Yul Edochie, that makes him a member of Pete Edochie’s family.
  • Muna was one of the three busiest actors in the Industry
Another thing many people do not know about him again is that he was one of the three busiest actors. The other two are Mike Ezuronye and Yul Edochie.

RENOWNED BLOGGER SETS TO EMPOWER NIGERIAN WOMEN

Last year was an eventful one for Linda Ikeji. The popular blogger had her blog taken down by Google following a controversy. Her blog was later restored and the storm cleared. But that wasnt the beginning of the series of events. It all started when she purchased her Range Rover and blogged about it and all hell let lose. However, beneath her tale, she did mention that she would be giving out funds to women who would want to stand on their own and be independent of men. And that time has come.
Read the launch below;

"In 2013, I told yall that Im going to start something called Id Rather Be Self-made’… where I will personally mentor young girls with dreams and aspirations and help some of them start up small scale businesses. Ive been procrastinating for over a year & a half and now I am finally ready to do this. Id Rather Be Self-made is not a foundation, or an organization (I cant handle that blogging takes too much of my time), its just me and some young ladies meeting whenever we can, inspire each other, exchange business ideas, and if I feel someone has a great business idea and its not going to cost too much to start the business, I will personally finance it. Not as a loan, its 100% to the person. Im looking at N250k to N1million per person, depending on how great the business idea is. If you need less, you will get the money faster. Ill also use LIB to promote your businesses. All I want in return is for you to work hard, make a success of your business and pass it forwardi.e help others. And if you ever see me on the street after you make it, you can say hello or give me a hug:-)What prompted me to think of doing this is my own story and the lifestyle of some young girls. Its quite unfortunate and sad. I went to University of Lagos, I was once a model and a model manager, so I have seen some things girls do for money and it breaks my heart. Some, if I told you, you will never believe. And now that I can afford to help a few girls, I am willing to help with my own money. The aim of
Id Rather Be Self-made is to reduce Aristorism by at least 1%:-). Please continue
So Im putting aside N10million for this to start with and release more money if everything goes well. If youre between 18 and 26, female (sorry guys want to concentrate on the women for now), you are looking for inspiration, you want to start a business and need financing or already have a business but need more money to take it to the next level, or you just need business advice, then come and lets do this. Obviously, I cant help everyone. Its not possible. But I will help as many young women as I can this is something I plan to do for as long as I can so hopefully, many of you will benefit. Im interested in girls who have vowed not to sell their bodies to make it in life (because you really dont. All that I dont have a choice is BS. Trust me, Ive tasted poverty like some of you will never know and I never did). Im also interested in girls who are living that lifestyle right now but would rather not, and want out desperately. Youre going to personally meet with me and other inspiring Nigerian women who made it on their own without ever having to lie on their backs. Trust me, there are many of us. You can be one too, so lets do this.
We are going to meet this weekend for the first time. So if youre interested, please call 07051229040. But let me repeat this. I cant help everyone. Its not possible. But I promise to help as many as I can. I definitely want to do this because I want to givebackGod doesnt bless you for you alone or your family, he gives us so we can pay forward and touch as many lives as we can with his blessings. Thats my belief, so Im really excited to do this. Once you call that number, she will tell you where were going to meet this weekend. I cant announce it here before 10,000 people show uplol. And please, females only!

All the best peopleand yes, you can be self-made!  Look at me, I was broke at 30and now Im 34 and I have small changelol".

STOP CALLING US LOCAL RAPPERS- REMINISCE

Nigerian rapper Reminisce is speaking out about his dissatisfaction that a lot of people refer to him and a number of other rappers, as indigenous rappers. Over the past few years there are a select number of artists who have stopped into the Nigerian music industry with the aim of promoting the African culture and language. Reminisce is however publicly stating that he will rather not be recognized for his use of Nigerian language – Yoruba – to rap.  In an exclusive interview with HipHop World Magazine, the rapper clears air on the indigenous or local rapper tag on them when asked to talk on how the endorsement has been coming for him and his fellow indigenous rappers.  He said, “Stop calling us indigenous rappers there is nothing like that, a rapper is a rapper, calling myself, Phyno, Olamide, Seriki, BaseOne, Lil Kesh and couple of others coming up local rapper is a way of suppressing or make us feel inferior, because Sarkodie is a rapper no one refers to him as indigenous rapper. If you cannot call him a local rapper then don’t call any of us local or indigenous rapper. Over the years, we’ve been able to overturn the rap game, we’ve been able to change perception as regards if you cannot rap in English you cannot be a rap god or king and it’s been a collective effort. Things has really change people can now know who the real hiphop guys are unlike before when if you can rap in English you won’t get endorsement. And we feel very proud to be the rave of the moment”.
